Which came first, the chicken or the egg?

The obvious answer to this question is the egg. Why, you ask? Eggs are traditionally for breakfast, the first meal of the day!

The What

This week’s flavor is eggs. Eggs have long been known as an affordable protein option, and this week I found a deal I couldn’t pass up. I bought 36 eggs for $1.84, which means these babies are ringing up at $.05 each. If I weren’t so worried they’d make too much noise, I’d have chickens of my own. Much to my neighbor’s delight, however, I’ll have to rely on the grocery store to provide these for now.

The Why

As stated above, eggs are traditionally breakfast food. That’s no reason to squash our creativity! You can use eggs in such a variety of recipes. They make an egg-cellent addition to any traditional meal. We will also take a crack at an egg-based dessert! This week we’ll hatch a plan to egg-speriment with some delicious meals that are also easy and affordable.
